Stardate 20135.13.14:

Being disappointed in my previous attempt to explore and find some excitement, I decided to try some more warp gates. I jumped a few sectors over to a new gate and gave it a go. Boy did I find what I was looking for. Apparently I interrupted something that I shouldn't have on the other side of the gate, cause there was a whole fleet there that was really pissed off that I popped in. My only thought was to blast right through them at the fastest speed I could muster. I knew that they would have to reverse direction and that would let me get a good ways ahead of them, keep them from firing missiles at me. Taking fire from all sides, poor Dolores took quite a few hits. Hull damage at about 50%, but I was alive. I went around to the back side of a nearby planet and waited. Planning my next move.

I decided to jump over to the next sector. On the other end of the jump I was greeted by two hostile crafts. Maybe they knew I jumped? Either way, I was not running away this time. A whole fleet? Run. But these two? I was looking for excitement. I missiles were spent when I broke through their fleet, so I was relying on just my particle cannons and beams. Some fancy flying, a bit of learning how far my weapons reach, and soon they were nothing but scrap metal floating against the backdrop of stars. I used my tractor beam to bring in whatever cargo they had... sorta nice, not having to mine for hours just to get some stuff to sell. So now what? The only station I know of was back through that gate beyond the fleet. Guess I'll have to risk it.

I warp to the front of the planet on the outskirts of where their fleet is patrolling. I spot the warp gate from far away, line up my flight path, divert all power to shields and boost away. Dolores rattles around me as I take on fire. I re-route power to my forward shields, still no hull damage! I make it through, once again routing power. Bow shields now. And with a victory yell, I put up a finger and blast through the warp gate! I found my adventure.
